Our products first appeared in Japan in the late 1960s where they gained a leading position in the automotive market. Around 1990, Toray Industries, Inc. began supplying United States based manufacturers from Japan. In 1994, Toray Industries, Inc. recognized an opportunity to establish a plant North America in order to better service the domestic automobile manufacturers.
The PEF Division of Toray Plastics (America), Inc. was established in December of 1996 in Warren County, Virginia. With a small market share, Toray started producing foam in early 1997 and quickly became the foam of choice for laminators and Tier 1 customers due to our process capabilities and quality products that deliver competitive advantages to our customers.
Toray PEF Division's 165,000 square feet manufacturing and warehouse space is located on over 200 acres. This location gives Toray the opportunity for growth to continually meet market needs and offers our customers a one to two day delivery cycle.
