Safety
Employee safety comes first at Toray. Toray Plastics (America), Inc. is committed to providing a safe working environment for employees and challenges all personnel to work safely on a daily basis. Safety is the top priority at this facility; this is very evident with the achievement of three year 0 OSHA recordable record from 2001 to 2003. The PEF division strives to be a leader in safety performance both within Toray Corporation and throughout the U.S.
Management
The method behind Toray's management style and programs is the idea of hands-on interaction with management on the floor. You don't get answers by looking at a computer printout or talking to people indirectly. Our management goes to the floor and observes the facts to get familiar with the process.
Another big piece of the puzzle for Toray is visual management. Charts and other graphic representations of daily production data are in high-traffic areas such as on the way to the employee break room, where they can be seen frequently. Toray management focuses on communicating and sharing with its employees as much as possible. Weekly meetings update employees to keep track of progress.

Development
Toray PEF Division strongly encourages career development within its organization. This philosophy gives employs opportunities to advance within the company to higher-level positions based on their experience and performance.
Atmosphere
Toray PEF Division's working atmosphere is relaxed yet remains professional. Toray provides laundered uniforms to certain employees free of charge and office area employees have the option of corporate or business casual dress. Toray PEF employees have established a family-like working environment that is both supportive and positive. Toray PEF employees organized a Vacation Donation Bank. The purpose of this is to allow employees to donate vacation hours to a bank that is then allocated to employees with a critical need for paid leave.
Toray strongly believes in showing appreciation to all employees. Toray PEF Division has instituted a rewards program that includes steak lunches offered for reaching monthly goals. This is one of the several events that take place throughout the year to show appreciation of employee dedication. Others events include the annual awards banquet and the annual employee appreciation day for families. According to General Manager, Jeff Lippy "We want to make sure everyone shares in our success."
